Voice over talent for croup video:

This little voiceover has croup.

The croup symptoms came after the voice over had gone to bed.

Listen to the very specific sound when the talent draws the breath. This is what we call stridor

The voice over also has a harsh, barking cough witch is very characteristic for croup.

Here his father has taken him out of bed and brought him outside, so the voiceover can breathe in cold air.

The voiceover still has breathing difficulties, but seems now more relaxed. The cold air has reduced the swelling of the airways.

Still the voice over has some stridor.

Some minutes later the talent is much better. The voice over has now longer stridor and falls into sleep in his fathers arms.

The voiceover’s father did the right thing. The voice over recognised the symptoms of croup, and fortunately the voice over knew exactly what to do to reduce his son’s breathing difficulties.

Voice over talent for shortness of breath animation:

This voice over shows signs of shortness of breath. The voice over has got a rapid rate of respiration and breathlessness. Observe how the skin under and between the ribs is pulled or sucked in with each breath. This is what we call retractions. It is caused by the use of extra respiratory muscles.

Here you can see retractions in the neck.

This voice over also makes use of nasal flaring to breathe more easily. This is also a sign of shortness of breath.

Voice over talent for asthma animation:

This voice over has difficulty breathing caused by asthma. The voice over has a rapid respiration. Especially breathing out or the expiration is distressing for this talent.

Look at the retractions of the skin under the ribs and in the neck.

Listen to the wheezing. This is typical for asthma.

The voice over has a dry cough, which is caused by irritation of the mucosa of the airways.

Here you can see the lungs. The lungs consist of bronchi and alveloli.

Here is a cross section of a terminal bronchus. In asthma the narrowing of the lumen is caused by constriction of outer muscle layer, swelling of the mucosa and excessive production of mucus.

This causes shortness of breath and difficulty breathing in the talent. Especially the breathing out is prolonged and labored. Listen to the wheezing during expiration. This is typical for asthma.
