Anybody who has ever thought about doing voice overs knows the name. And those that hear of the man, learn what voice overs are. He was the ambassador for the promo/trailer voice over world. He brought the art into the modern age with a distinctly new style that has endured for almost 40 years. l l I never had a chance to meet the man, but the largest commercial campaign of my life (thus far) also brought me into voice to voice proximity - GEICO Celberity Campaign. I did two years on the campaign, 14 commercials and numerous radio spots. It bought me a house. It helped me finance a film. It changed my life. And of all the spots with the various celebrities (Little Richard, Joan Rivers, James Lipton, Charo) Don was in the most popular spot. To this day, it is a highlight of my career. l l Rest in Peace, Don.
